We are a 501-3C non-profit organization that started a youth drop in center called Amy’s Place in December 2006. Starting with six youth, our growth has been exponential. We have had the opportunity of serving 589 unduplicated youth during the past 20 months, and youth have returned to the center over 3,072 times!!  We are struggling to meet not only the basic needs of these children but also address the underlying problems they face.  By creating a non-threatening youth friendly environment such as Amy’s Place, where  basic needs are met, Amy’s Place attendees naturally become more likely to want to make positive changes in their lives.  With love, support, and mentoring they can become more successful as they connect to community resources such as stable housing, employment, education, and healthcare opportunities.

If you talk to the kids they will tell you how much having a place to go and a meal means to them:
A place where they can simply be young people without shouldering the burden of survival for a few hours.

Mission:
Believing in the dignity of each person and the value of every life, Old Town Christian Ministries strives to serve those who are hardest to serve: the chronically homeless, the mentally ill, vulnerable youth, and those who suffer from substance abuse. Click here to view our Rules

From 12/23/06 the number of unduplicated youth who have attended Amy’s Place is 589. Kids have returned 3072 times, and the Center has been open 169 times. These numbers are amazing. About 33% of these youth are homeless, and the average age is 17.
